Jerusalem Backdrop

Amudim has always sought to take advantage of the wide array of unrivaled learning resources available in Israel, including Batei Midrash, libraries, archives, historical sites, and most importantly the incredible pool of Talmidot and Talmidei Hakhamim, scholars and outstanding teachers who are making daily contributions to the world of Jewish scholarship. Our location is Jerusalem allows Amudim students to be in close and regular contact with these outstanding personalities, alongside Amudim’s exceptional faculty, and afford them the opportunity to soar to even greater heights.

Campus

Our Beit Midrash, library, classrooms, and eating areas are located in a charming, vintage home with an authentically Jerusalem feel and a large private outdoor space. Nestled among trees, parks and many local attractions in the Germany Colony/Katamon area, Amudim is located in a neighborhood renowned as a dynamic and vibrant center of Jewish life and learning. Within walking distance of the Old City, just blocks from Emek Refaim Street, easy access to other locations where Amudim classes are held (including the Bible Lands Museum and National Library of Israel), internship locations and other hotspots, Amudim students have the opportunity to be part of life in modern Jerusalem.

Apartment Living

Instead of common dorm life, our students are housed in apartments in the vicinity of the Midrasha, in order to promote our ideal of independent learning and independent living. Each apartment has its own madricha, providing warmth, support, and structure while fostering the girls’ sense of ownership and responsibility.

Sharing a home and the experiences of daily living, students form deep bonds with one another. At the end of the day, they can relax with friends, play games, or share a cup of tea and a laugh.

Having a home in Israel gives our students a profound sense of belonging, stability, and connection, during the year and beyond.

Amenities

Each apartment is designed for comfort and independence, featuring WiFi, laundry services, a kitchen, living room, and inviting outdoor spaces. Students enjoy three daily meals while the midrasha is in session: self-prepared breakfasts with groceries provided in their apartments, and wholesome, well-balanced lunches and dinners from a local caterer.
